These terms cover Shamela Agent (the app) and shamelaagent.takhrijhadithlab.my (the site), provided by Takhrij Hadith Lab (“we”). By installing or using the app you agree to them.
Independence
Shamela Agent is an independent, third-party add-on. It is not made, endorsed, sponsored or supported by Maktabah Shamela (المكتبة الشاملة) or its owners, nor by Anthropic or OpenAI. Maktabah Shamela, Claude, ChatGPT and related names belong to their owners and are used here only to describe what Shamela Agent works with.
What you need
A lawful copy of Maktabah Shamela on a supported computer, and your own Claude or ChatGPT plan or API key. You must follow the terms of Anthropic or OpenAI; your use counts against your plan, or is billed to your API account, with them.
Your licence
When you pay the one-time fee, you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Shamela Agent on the number of computers your plan covers (1, 3 or 5) that you own or control, with the updates we publish. You may not resell, rent or redistribute it, or get around any licence check.
Answers are not fatwas
Answers are generated by AI and can be wrong, incomplete or attributed to the wrong source. Check each answer against the cited pages before relying on it. Shamela Agent is a research aid; it does not issue fatwas and does not replace qualified scholars.
Changes to Shamela
To appear inside Shamela, the installer adds files to your Shamela installation and keeps a backup of what it changes. Removing Shamela Agent restores Shamela. We are not responsible for Shamela itself or its updates.
Shared links
An answer you share is public to anyone with the link until you stop sharing it. Share only what you have the right to share. We may remove shared content that breaks the law or these terms.
Updates
We may add, change or remove features. Automatic updates install only when you restart Shamela.
No warranty
The app and site are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for Shamela Agent.
Ending
You may stop using Shamela Agent and remove it at any time. We may end your licence if you break these terms.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia.
